We know free motion quilting can be a bit daunting, but we're here to help. Our Decorative Floral Free Motion Quilting Kit has been designed by Sheena Norquay to help you learn the techniques and movements commonly used in free motion quilting.
Featuring S curves, C curves, following lines, turning and reversed motifs we'll give you the routes to take to help you find your way.
Not only that, but we've included a smaller panel so you can have a practise go to test out ideas or get into the swing of things before trying the larger square panel.
In the images you can see how Sheena has used a range of colours to create a range of effects.
Each kit contains
- Top panel - when cut gives one large and one small panel
- 80/20 cotton/polyester wadding
- Cotton backing fabric
- Two reels of Aurifil 50 weight cotton thread - perfect for quilting
- Instructions with quilting guide
The printed area of the large panel is 38cm square and the smaller is 38x20cm. The total size of both panels together as supplied is 50x70cm.
You will need a free motion quilting foot suitable for your machine - or you can use this panel for hand quilting and embroidery too as demonstrated here by the wonderfully talented Jo Avery in her interpretation using the bright on grey variation and heavier 12 weight Aurifil wool thread (not supplied with this kit but available from Aurifil retailers)
